About this package

Sometimes the first question is not what you are allergic to, but whether allergy is the right explanation. Total IgE is a general marker: it is often raised in allergic conditions such as hay fever, eczema and asthma, and it can also rise with some parasitic infections. The blood count adds the eosinophil level, a white cell that climbs in allergy. This pair cannot name a trigger, and a normal result does not completely rule out a specific allergy. It is a good, economical first step when symptoms are mild or unclear, and it helps you and your doctor decide whether to go on to the specific allergen panels.

The simplest allergy check: total IgE and a blood count, to see whether an allergic tendency is likely at all.

What does this package cover?

The 2 tests are grouped into 2 health areas:

Blood count & inflammation 1 test

Red cells, white cells and platelets, blood group, and general inflammation markers.

  • Complete Blood Count (CBC)

RBC count, haemoglobin, haematocrit, WBC count with differential (neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, basophils), platelet count, and red-cell indices (MCV, MCH, MCHC).

Allergy 1 test

Measures allergic (IgE) sensitisation to common food and inhaled triggers.

  • Total IGE

The total concentration of IgE antibodies in the blood.

2 tests included (27 parameters)

Booked separately these tests cost ₹1,198 - save ₹99 with this package.

Why consider this package?

  • 2 laboratory investigations in one booking
  • Looks at 2 health areas together, not in isolation
  • All samples collected in a single home visit
  • Costs ₹99 less than booking the tests separately
  • Useful for preventive screening, or when your doctor wants these tests together
  • Pathologist-reviewed reports shared online

Who is this package for?

Designed for

Men & women

Age group

All ages

Purpose

Health screening

People with mild or occasional sneezing, itchy skin or cough who are unsure whether allergy is involved, and those who want a low-cost first look before a larger panel.

How often should you get it done?

Once. If the IgE is high or symptoms persist, your doctor will usually advise the specific allergen tests.

Not everyone needs every test. Whether this package suits you depends on your age, symptoms, family history and any ongoing treatment - your doctor can advise.

What can you learn from this package?

The package can provide information about:

  • Blood count & inflammation - Complete Blood Count (CBC)
  • Allergy - Total IGE

A package gives individual results for each test - it does not diagnose disease by itself.

How to prepare

  • No fasting is required for this package.
  • Drink water as usual, and avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise for 24 hours before.
  • Take your regular medicines unless your doctor advises otherwise, and tell the phlebotomist what you take.
  • Wear a loose-sleeved top so the blood sample can be collected easily.

Understanding your package report

Your report lists the result of each test separately, with its own unit and reference range. Values outside the range are highlighted.

There is no single overall "health score" - each result is read on its own and then together with the others. One out-of-range value is not a diagnosis, and a normal report does not guarantee you are completely healthy.

Share the report with your doctor, who will interpret it with your symptoms and history. Call us if you need help reading it.

Frequently asked questions

Why test total IgE if it does not name the allergen?

It shows whether the immune system is in an allergic mode. A clearly raised value justifies the cost of the more detailed panels, while a normal value may save you from them.

Can IgE be high without allergy?

Yes. Some parasitic infections, certain skin conditions and rarely other illnesses raise it. Your doctor interprets it alongside your symptoms.

What is the next step after a high IgE?

Usually a specific allergen test, for example a food or inhalant panel, chosen according to your symptoms.

Is any preparation required?

No fasting or special preparation is needed.
