About this package

Diabetic Screening is a 9-test health package with 40 parameters, covering kidney, heart and cholesterol, blood sugar, blood count and urine. It includes Urea, Urine Complete, Lipid Profile, CBC-Complete Hemogram Test(28) and 5 more. This is an outsourced test: your sample is collected by HWP Diagnostic and processed at our partner laboratory, General Diagnostics, which lets us keep the price low and flexible for you.

What does this package cover?

The 9 tests are grouped into 5 health areas:

Blood count & inflammation 1 test

Red cells, white cells and platelets, blood group, and general inflammation markers.

  • CBC - Complete Hemogram Test(28)

CBC - Complete Hemogram Test(28) is a blood test. CBC - Complete Hemogram Test(28) measures red cells, white cells, haemoglobin, haematocrit and platelets. It is a first-line screen for anaemia, infection, inflammation and overall health.

Diabetes & blood sugar 3 tests

Current and 3-month average blood sugar, plus insulin markers for diabetes and insulin resistance.

  • Hba1c (Whole Blood)

Hba1c (Whole Blood) is a blood test. Hba1c (Whole Blood) measures blood glucose or a related marker to screen for, diagnose or monitor diabetes and insulin resistance.

  • Sugar (Glucose) Fasting

Sugar (Glucose) Fasting is a blood test. Sugar (Glucose) Fasting measures blood glucose or a related marker to screen for, diagnose or monitor diabetes and insulin resistance.

  • Sugar (Glucose) Post Prandial

Sugar (Glucose) Post Prandial is a blood test. Sugar (Glucose) Post Prandial measures blood glucose or a related marker to screen for, diagnose or monitor diabetes and insulin resistance.

Heart & cholesterol 1 test

Blood fats and inflammation markers that together indicate the risk of heart disease and stroke.

  • Lipid Profile

Total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and the calculated VLDL and total cholesterol/HDL ratio.

Kidney & electrolytes 3 tests

How well your kidneys filter waste, plus the salts (electrolytes) they keep in balance.

  • Microalbumin creatinine ratio - Spot Urine

Microalbumin creatinine ratio - Spot Urine helps assess how well the kidneys filter waste and maintain fluid and electrolyte balance.

  • Serum Creatinine

The concentration of creatinine in the blood, which rises as kidney filtration declines.

  • Urea

Urea is a blood test. Urea helps assess how well the kidneys filter waste and maintain fluid and electrolyte balance.

Urine 1 test

Routine urine analysis for infection, sugar, protein and kidney clues.

  • Urine Complete

Urine Complete is a diagnostic laboratory test carried out on a urine sample. Your doctor may advise it to screen for, diagnose or monitor a related condition, with results reported against standard reference ranges.

9 tests included (40 parameters)

Who is this package for?

Designed for

Men & women

Age group

All ages

Purpose

Health screening

People with diabetes or pre-diabetes, a family history of diabetes, or anyone who wants to track sugar control and its effect on kidneys, heart and liver.

How often should you get it done?

Every 3 to 6 months, or as your doctor advises

Not everyone needs every test. Whether this package suits you depends on your age, symptoms, family history and any ongoing treatment - your doctor can advise.

What can you learn from this package?

The package can provide information about:

  • Blood count & inflammation - CBC - Complete Hemogram Test(28)
  • Diabetes & blood sugar - Hba1c (Whole Blood), Sugar (Glucose) Fasting and Sugar (Glucose) Post Prandial
  • Heart & cholesterol - Lipid Profile
  • Kidney & electrolytes - Microalbumin creatinine ratio - Spot Urine, Serum Creatinine and Urea
  • Urine - Urine Complete

A package gives individual results for each test - it does not diagnose disease by itself.

How to prepare

  • Fast for 10 to 12 hours before the sample - plain water is allowed. An early-morning slot makes this easier.
  • This package includes a post-meal (PP) sugar test: have your usual meal after the fasting sample, and a second sample is taken exactly 2 hours later.
  • Drink water as usual, and avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise for 24 hours before.
  • Take your regular medicines unless your doctor advises otherwise, and tell the phlebotomist what you take.
  • For the urine test, a first-morning, mid-stream sample in the sterile container we provide is best.
  • Wear a loose-sleeved top so the blood sample can be collected easily.

Understanding your package report

Your report lists the result of each test separately, with its own unit and reference range. Values outside the range are highlighted.

There is no single overall "health score" - each result is read on its own and then together with the others. One out-of-range value is not a diagnosis, and a normal report does not guarantee you are completely healthy.

Share the report with your doctor, who will interpret it with your symptoms and history. Call us if you need help reading it.

Why is the Diabetic Screening done?

It brings together tests for blood count & inflammation, diabetes & blood sugar, heart & cholesterol, kidney & electrolytes and urine in one booking, so these areas can be checked at the same time - for a routine health review, to follow up symptoms, or to monitor a known condition as your doctor advises.

Who may consider the Diabetic Screening?

Is the Diabetic Screening suitable for men and women?

Yes. All the tests in this package apply to both men and women.

Is the Diabetic Screening suitable for children?

A blood and urine samples are needed.

How is sample collection done for the Diabetic Screening?

How do I understand the results of the Diabetic Screening?

Each test in the package has its own result, unit and reference range printed on the report. Values outside the range are highlighted. Your doctor reads them together, with your symptoms and history, to decide what they mean for you.

Can the Diabetic Screening diagnose a disease by itself?

No. A health package screens and assesses - it can point to something that needs attention, but a diagnosis is made by your doctor, sometimes after further tests.

Can I add extra tests to the Diabetic Screening?

Yes. Add any other test to your cart along with this package and all samples are collected in the same visit. You can also call 84250 40353 for help choosing.
