About this package

This panel adds H. pylori testing and ESR to the basic loose motion tests. H. pylori can cause persistent digestive symptoms including diarrhoea, and ESR gives a slower-moving measure of inflammation that can be raised in inflammatory bowel conditions. With stool routine, occult blood, TTG IgA, CRP and the blood count, it is a balanced mid-level option for chronic diarrhoea without the thyroid and kidney tests.

A standard chronic loose motion panel: stool routine, occult blood, H. pylori, TTG IgA, ESR, CRP and blood count.

What does this package cover?

The 7 tests are grouped into 2 health areas:

Blood count & inflammation 3 tests

Red cells, white cells and platelets, blood group, and general inflammation markers.

  • Complete Blood Count (CBC)

RBC count, haemoglobin, haematocrit, WBC count with differential (neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, basophils), platelet count, and red-cell indices (MCV, MCH, MCHC).

  • CRP (C-Reactive Protein)

The level of C-reactive protein circulating in the blood, which rises within hours of an inflammatory trigger.

  • ESR (Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate)

The rate at which red blood cells settle in a vertical tube over 60 minutes.

Other tests 4 tests

Additional tests included in this package.

  • Helicobacter Pylori Antigen detection by - Stool

Helicobacter Pylori Antigen detection by - Stool looks for evidence of infection - antigen, antibody or genetic material - to help confirm the cause of symptoms and guide treatment.

  • Stool for Occult Blood

Stool for Occult Blood is a diagnostic laboratory test carried out on a stool sample. Your doctor may advise it to screen for, diagnose or monitor a related condition, with results reported against standard reference ranges.

  • Stool Routine

Stool Routine is a diagnostic laboratory test carried out on a stool sample. Your doctor may advise it to screen for, diagnose or monitor a related condition, with results reported against standard reference ranges.

  • Tissue Transglutaminase IgA (TTG)

IgA antibodies against tissue transglutaminase, an enzyme targeted by the immune system in coeliac disease.

7 tests included (32 parameters)

Why consider this package?

  • 7 laboratory investigations in one booking
  • Looks at 2 health areas together, not in isolation
  • All samples collected in a single home visit

Who is this package for?

Designed for

Men & women

Age group

All ages

Purpose

Health screening

People with ongoing loose motions, abdominal pain or bloating who want a thorough but economical work-up.

How often should you get it done?

Once for investigation. A later repeat is decided from what this first report shows.

Not everyone needs every test. Whether this package suits you depends on your age, symptoms, family history and any ongoing treatment - your doctor can advise.

What can you learn from this package?

The package can provide information about:

  • Blood count & inflammation - Complete Blood Count (CBC), CRP (C-Reactive Protein) and ESR (Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate)
  • Other tests - Helicobacter Pylori Antigen detection by - Stool, Stool for Occult Blood, Stool Routine and Tissue Transglutaminase IgA (TTG)

A package gives individual results for each test - it does not diagnose disease by itself.

How to prepare

Understanding your package report

Your report lists the result of each test separately, with its own unit and reference range. Values outside the range are highlighted.

There is no single overall "health score" - each result is read on its own and then together with the others. One out-of-range value is not a diagnosis, and a normal report does not guarantee you are completely healthy.

Share the report with your doctor, who will interpret it with your symptoms and history. Call us if you need help reading it.

Frequently asked questions

When should chronic diarrhoea worry me?

See a doctor promptly if there is blood in the stool, weight loss, fever, night-time diarrhoea or if it has lasted more than four weeks.

How does ESR help?

A raised ESR suggests inflammation somewhere in the body and can support further tests for inflammatory bowel disease.

Do I need any preparation?

No fasting is needed. Bring the stool sample in the container provided.
