About this package

This panel looks at three upper-gut explanations for pain and malabsorption in one go: coeliac disease through TTG IgA with total IgA, pancreatic problems through amylase and lipase, and H. pylori exposure through an IgG antibody test. The liver function test and the blood count add the liver and blood picture. It is worth knowing that H. pylori IgG shows exposure to the bacteria at some point, and cannot tell whether the infection is active today. If positive, your doctor may advise a stool antigen or breath test before treatment.

A coeliac panel with H. pylori IgG and pancreas enzymes: TTG IgA, total IgA, amylase, lipase and liver function.

What does this package cover?

The 7 tests are grouped into 3 health areas:

Blood count & inflammation 1 test

Red cells, white cells and platelets, blood group, and general inflammation markers.

  • Complete Blood Count (CBC)

RBC count, haemoglobin, haematocrit, WBC count with differential (neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, basophils), platelet count, and red-cell indices (MCV, MCH, MCHC).

Liver 2 tests

Liver enzymes, bilirubin and proteins that show inflammation, fatty liver or reduced liver function.

  • Immunoglobulin A (IgA)

Immunoglobulin A (IgA) is a blood test. Immunoglobulin A (IgA) measures an antibody (immunoglobulin) level in the blood. It helps assess immune function and is used to investigate frequent infections, allergy, autoimmune disease and some blood disorders.

  • Liver Function Test (LFT)

SGPT/ALT, SGOT/AST, ALP, GGT, total/direct/indirect bilirubin, total protein, albumin, globulin, and the A/G ratio.

Other tests 4 tests

Additional tests included in this package.

  • Amylase

Amylase is a blood test. Amylase is a diagnostic laboratory test carried out on a blood sample. Your doctor may advise it to screen for, diagnose or monitor a related condition, with results reported against standard reference ranges.

  • HELICOBACTER PYLORI - IgG (ELFA)

HELICOBACTER PYLORI - IgG (ELFA) is a blood test. HELICOBACTER PYLORI - IgG (ELFA) looks for evidence of infection - antigen, antibody or genetic material - to help confirm the cause of symptoms and guide treatment.

  • Lipase

Lipase is a blood test. Lipase is a diagnostic laboratory test carried out on a blood sample. Your doctor may advise it to screen for, diagnose or monitor a related condition, with results reported against standard reference ranges.

  • Tissue Transglutaminase IgA (TTG)

IgA antibodies against tissue transglutaminase, an enzyme targeted by the immune system in coeliac disease.

7 tests included (43 parameters)

Why consider this package?

  • Pathologist-reviewed reports shared online

Who is this package for?

Designed for

Men & women

Age group

All ages

Purpose

Health screening

People with upper abdominal discomfort, bloating or weight change, in whom coeliac disease, pancreatic causes and H. pylori are all possible.

How often should you get it done?

Once for investigation. Repeat it only if symptoms change or your doctor asks for it.

Not everyone needs every test. Whether this package suits you depends on your age, symptoms, family history and any ongoing treatment - your doctor can advise.

What can you learn from this package?

The package can provide information about:

  • Blood count & inflammation - Complete Blood Count (CBC)
  • Liver - Immunoglobulin A (IgA) and Liver Function Test (LFT)
  • Other tests - Amylase, HELICOBACTER PYLORI - IgG (ELFA), Lipase and Tissue Transglutaminase IgA (TTG)

A package gives individual results for each test - it does not diagnose disease by itself.

How to prepare

  • Fast for 8 to 10 hours before the sample - plain water is allowed. An early-morning slot makes this easier.
  • Drink water as usual, and avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise for 24 hours before.
  • Take your regular medicines unless your doctor advises otherwise, and tell the phlebotomist what you take.
  • Wear a loose-sleeved top so the blood sample can be collected easily.

Understanding your package report

Your report lists the result of each test separately, with its own unit and reference range. Values outside the range are highlighted.

There is no single overall "health score" - each result is read on its own and then together with the others. One out-of-range value is not a diagnosis, and a normal report does not guarantee you are completely healthy.

Share the report with your doctor, who will interpret it with your symptoms and history. Call us if you need help reading it.

Frequently asked questions

Does a positive H. pylori IgG mean I have an active infection?

Not necessarily. IgG antibodies can persist after the infection is gone, so doctors often confirm with a stool antigen or breath test before treating.

Why is IgA measured?

Total IgA ensures that the coeliac TTG IgA test is reliable, since people with low IgA can have a falsely negative result.

How should I prepare?

Aim for roughly eight to ten hours without food, with water allowed.
